Sexual Abuse Involved in Colorado High School Murder
MSNBC reports that Duane Morrison, 53, “was a petty criminal who had a Denver address but apparently had been living in his battered yellow Jeep.”
Last Wednesday, Morrison drove his Jeep to Platte Canyon High School. He mingled with students as classes changed. He asked one kid about some girls whose names he knew. Then he took six girls hostage in an English classroom. “He did traumatize and assault our children,” Sheriff Fred Wegener said. “I’ll only say that it’s sexual in nature.”
He released four girls; later he fatally shot 16 year-old Emily Keyes as she tried to escape after SWAT officers blew a hole in the wall to get a good shot. Morrison then shot himself, and was also shot by the officers several times.
Utterly tragic.
